The tallest building in Osaka is located in Tennoji. It’s called Harukas. The upper floors of Harukas are an observation deck and are famous as a tourist destination. Floors 12-14 of Harukas are restaurant floors, and popular restaurants from all over Japan have been invited to open there. If you want to eat something delicious for sure, you can’t go wrong by looking for it on the restaurant floor of Harukas. Among the many restaurants, I would like to introduce a beef tongue specialty store this time.
Exterior of the restaurant
The menu has pictures, and it’s a beef tongue specialty shop, but there are so many types of dishes, so please check the menu. When I visited, it was past lunchtime, so I was able to enter without waiting in line. There were some people in the store, including individuals, couples, and families.
I ordered the 6-piece beef tongue Kiwami set meal
There is a beef tongue specialty store that offers beef tongue in various ways. There were also menus with miso and tomato flavors, but I ordered the 6-piece beef tongue Kiwami=ultimate set meal. I chose the ultimate beef tongue, which is thicker and of higher quality than regular beef tongue. You can also choose the number of beef tongue slices from 6 to 12.
The beef tongue Kiwami set meal that was ordered came with rice, oxtail soup, beef stew, and matcha sweets.
The main beef tongue was thick and carefully processed. It was cooked to a medium to well-done level. Such thick beef tongue needs to be cooked thoroughly. It was seasoned with a fairly strong salt flavor, and the more you chewed it, the more you could taste the deliciousness of the beef. The beef dish came with pickled Chinese cabbage and green chili peppers, which were also eaten little by little. The soup was lightly flavored with oxtail and long green onions. The staff explained that pepper was available on the table to add to taste. The beef stew was seasoned with soy sauce and was cooked well, making it delicious. In addition, the matcha sweets were wrapped in mochi with whipped cream and sweet bean paste, and lots of matcha was sprinkled around it. Apparently, this sweet was also born in Sendai, the same place as the beef tongue’s origin. It was a sweet dessert that made the saltiness and greasiness of the beef tongue refreshing.
The bill was ,333!!
The bill for the beef tongue ultimate set meal this time was 3,333 yen. If you order a regular beef tongue set meal with slightly thinner meat, you can eat it for less than 2,000 yen. There are many menus, so there are more reasonable dishes and of course more expensive dishes.
The order sheet is placed under the table, so you take that paper to the register to pay. Credit card payments are of course possible because it’s a large department store. Surprisingly, matcha sweets were beautifully packaged and sold as souvenirs next to the register. If you like them after trying them, why not buy them as a souvenir?
Restaurant Location
It is located on the 12th floor of a large department store called Harukas. Of course, it’s faster to take the elevator up, but there are only two elevator stops in Harukas. In addition, because it’s a large department store, the waiting time is very long. If you have time, it might be faster to take the escalator. Apparel stores, bookstores, Japanese tableware, bedding, and everything else are sold on each floor. I hope you find the product you like.
