Summer in Japan is DANGEROUS

Miscellaneous notes

you can’t breathe in summer

Japan, there are tourist spots not only in Tokyo, Kyoto, and Hokkaido, but also in Osaka. We hope that many tourists will come. But please come outside of summer!! This is a request from me, who hates summer. Summer in Japan is insanely hot.

I don’t like the heat, so I don’t recommend walking around the city in summer. Or be prepared and bring essential items!

It feels hotter than the temperature

In Osaka in June-August, the temperature rises to 35~38 degrees Celsius almost every day. The minimum temperature is also above 30 degrees, and it does not cool down even at night. It’s just as hot in Tokyo. Kyoto is topographically prone to heat build-up and hotter. In addition, not only high temperature, but also high humidity is a characteristic of Japan summer. The hot air is always clinging to your body. You feel hotter than the temperature shows, and even breathing feels painful.

Hotter than Florida?!

I went to Disney World in Florida before. The sunlight was sharp and my skin hurt. Being in a place without a roof made me feel like my head was pounding. However, the humidity was low and it was smooth. I felt that it was an “exciting summer.” In addition, the inside of the building and the bus is air-conditioned, so you can cool down in no time.

Summer in Japan is the opposite. Almost every day, heat stroke alarms are issued in Osaka, Kyoto, and Tokyo. Even a short walk outdoors can take away your strength. Moreover, the shops and trains are not air-conditioned. I can’t stop sweating, and a shirt wet with sweat doesn’t dry easily.

Effects of typhoons

In summer, typhoons often hit Japan. Therefore, airplanes and bullet trains may be suspended. Kansai International Airport is located on a landfill in Osaka Bay and is susceptible to typhoons. Roads and trains to the airport may stop due to strong winds.

From August 11 to 15, Many Japan tourists.

Japan, August 11th ~ 15th is the “Obon” period, so-called summer vacation. And the tourist spots are even more crowded. I think it’s quite hard to stand in line in the scorching heat.

essential items

・parasol ・Handy fan

I think it is essential for walking around the city. Parasols cost 2000~3000 yen, and handy fans cost about 1000~2000 yen. It’s hard to have these two, but it’s better than nothing. It can also be purchased at convenience stores during the summer months.

after all the japan is the best

I wrote summer. But there are also delicious dishes to eat in the summer. Hamo(tsurugi fish) and “somen” noodles, shaved ice, etc. After all, Japan (Osaka) is the best even in summer. Except for the heat.

In this blog, I will try to find the best thing of summer. Keep up the good work!!
